WeAreTELL Joins Innovators, Stakeholders and Youth in Addis Ababa for the African Youth Innovation, Enterprise & Leadership in Climate Action Convening 2026

What happens when you put young innovators, entrepreneurs, climate leaders, policymakers, investors, and changemakers from across Africa in one room?

You get big ideas, honest conversations, new connections, plenty of energy, and, hopefully, solutions that don’t just stay in PowerPoint presentations. 😄

That was the spirit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where WeAreTELL joined young innovators, founders, entrepreneurs, organizations, and key stakeholders from across the continent for the African Youth Innovation, Enterprise & Leadership in Climate Action Convening 2026.

Held under the theme “Scaling youth-led solutions for resilient food systems, climate action and green prosperity in Africa,” the convening created a space for young Africans to showcase what they are building and, more importantly, ask the big question:

How do we take these solutions beyond the room and scale them across Africa?

Africa has the ideas. Now, how do we scale them?

One thing became clear very quickly: Africa is not short of young people with ideas.

From climate-smart agriculture and digital farming to restoration, agribusiness, food systems, green jobs, and climate technology, young Africans are already building solutions to some of the continent’s biggest challenges.

But having a great solution is only the beginning.

You also need access to finance.
You need markets.
You need technology.
You need the right skills.
You need partnerships.
You need supportive policies.

And sometimes, you need someone to help tell your story.

Because a great solution nobody knows about is still a hidden solution.

This is where the work of WeAreTELL comes in.

We believe storytelling is not just about making beautiful videos or posting nice pictures. Storytelling can help a startup explain its value, help an innovator reach the right partner, help an organization attract investment, and help communities understand solutions that could improve their lives.

In a room filled with innovators, this became even more obvious.

There are young people doing incredible things across Africa, but many of their stories never travel beyond their communities, organizations, or social media circles.

We want to change that.

At WeAreTELL, we are building a platform and ecosystem that helps young people and organizations tell their stories, strengthen their digital presence, build visibility, and connect with opportunities.

And then there is digital innovation.

Another major conversation throughout the convening was the role of digital technology in scaling agriculture and climate solutions.

The way we build businesses is changing.

The way we communicate is changing.

The way people discover products, access information, connect to markets, and build communities is changing.

For today’s young entrepreneur, digital media is not simply an extra communication channel. It can be part of the business strategy.

Your website matters.

Your social media matters.

Your story matters.

Your digital identity matters.

And yes, knowing how to communicate what you do matters.

At WeAreTELL, we are increasingly working with startups, founders, and CEOs to help them navigate this digital era, package their organizations better, communicate their value, and tell stories that people can actually connect with.

Young people are not waiting for the future

Perhaps one of the most exciting parts of the convening was simply seeing the diversity of young people already doing the work.

They are building businesses.

They are creating jobs.

They are experimenting with technology.

They are transforming agriculture.

They are restoring ecosystems.

They are developing climate solutions.

They are asking difficult questions.

And they are demanding to be part of the decisions that shape their future.

That is exactly the kind of energy Africa needs.

But we also need to create the ecosystem around these young people so that good ideas have a real chance of becoming sustainable businesses and scalable solutions.

The conversations must continue

The Addis Ababa convening was more than a two-day gathering.

It was a reminder that Africa’s young people have the creativity, ambition, and solutions needed to shape a more resilient future.

The work now is to connect the dots.

Connect innovators to markets.

Connect entrepreneurs to finance.

Connect young leaders to decision-makers.

Connect solutions to communities.

And perhaps most importantly, connect stories to opportunities.

Because Africa doesn’t just need more solutions.

We need to see them. We need to hear from the people building them. We need to support them. And we need to help them scale.

For WeAreTELL, that is the opportunity ahead.

To keep telling the stories of Africa’s climate innovators, to equip young people with the tools to tell their own stories, and to make sure the world sees the incredible work happening across this continent.

Africa has the ideas. Africa has the talent. Africa has the solutions.

Now let’s tell those stories and help them go further.
